Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what this site is, where its data comes from, and what you can do with it.

What is League Of Data Base?
League Of Data Base is a free online encyclopedia for League of Legends. It lets you browse every champion, item, rune and summoner spell in the game, with their exact statistics, for any patch and in 21 languages. It is an independent project, not an official Riot Games site.
Where does the data come from?
All game data comes from Data Dragon, the official static data export published by Riot Games for each patch. Skin chromas, which Data Dragon does not describe, come from Community Dragon. The site does not edit these values — it reads and presents them.
How often is the data updated?
New patches are detected from Riot's version list as soon as they are published, usually within hours of a patch going live. Older patches remain available, so you can always go back and read the site as it was on a previous version.
Which languages are available?
The site is available in the 21 languages Riot publishes game data in: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian, Greek, Czech, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Both the interface and the game text follow the language you pick.
Can I look up an older patch?
Yes. Every patch Riot has published through Data Dragon stays browsable, and historical pages have their own permanent addresses. That makes it possible to compare a champion or an item between two versions, or to link to how something looked on a specific patch.
Is it free?
Yes, the whole site is free to use, with no advertising and no paywall. It is funded by voluntary donations. Only heavy programmatic use of the developer API involves paid credit packs, and even that has a free tier.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to browse champions, items, runes, summoner spells or any patch. An account is only required to save favourites, create and share item builds, and vote on builds shared by others.
Can I create and share item builds?
Yes. The armory editor lets you assemble a build step by step, then publish it under a shareable link. Shared builds can be voted on by other visitors, and your public profile lists the ones you have published.
Is there an API?
Yes. A JSON REST API exposes the site's own data — public profiles, shared builds and consultation trends — with a free tier and paid credit packs for larger volumes. Riot's game data itself remains available directly from Data Dragon.
Does it work offline?
Partly. The site is an installable progressive web app, so you can add it to your home screen or desktop, and pages you have already visited stay readable without a connection. New pages still require network access.
Is this site affiliated with Riot Games?
No. League Of Data Base is an independent project, not endorsed by Riot Games, and it does not reflect the views or opinions of Riot Games or anyone officially involved in producing or managing League of Legends. League of Legends and Riot Games are trademarks or registered trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.
