1. Purpose and acceptance
These terms of use govern access to and use of League Of Data Base,
an unofficial community encyclopedia dedicated to League of Legends:
browsing champions, items, runes and summoner spells, creating builds, and the
related features (account, favorites, sharing).
Using the site implies full acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree with
them, please do not use the service.
2. Access to the service
Browsing the encyclopedia is free and requires no account. An account is only
needed for personal features: builds, favorites and profile.
The publisher strives to keep the service available at all times but does not
guarantee uninterrupted availability (see section 8).
3. User account
By creating an account, you agree to:
- provide accurate information and keep it up to date (in particular your email address);
- create only one account per person;
- choose a strong password and keep it confidential — actions performed from your account are deemed to be yours;
- notify the publisher without delay of any unauthorized use of your account.
Your profile is private by default; you can make it public from its
settings. The processing of your data is described in the
privacy policy.
4. User-generated content
The builds and configurations you create remain yours. By publishing them on the
site (public visibility or link sharing), you grant the publisher a
non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to reproduce and
display that content, strictly limited to its distribution on League Of Data Base
and valid for as long as it remains published there.
You are solely responsible for the content you publish. The following are prohibited:
- unlawful, defamatory, hateful, discriminatory or obscene content;
- spam, disguised advertising and malicious links;
- misleading or offensive build names, or names impersonating someone else;
- any content infringing third-party rights (including Riot Games' rights).
The publisher may remove content that breaches these terms without
prior notice and, in the event of a serious or repeated breach,
suspend or delete the account concerned. Unlawful content can be
reported to charles.lindecker@outlook.fr.
5. Build visibility
Every build has a visibility setting under your control:
- Private (default) — visible to you only;
- Public — visible to every visitor of the site, signed in or not;
- Link sharing — accessible to anyone who has the link, without an account: only share the link with people you trust.
You can change a build's visibility or delete it at any time. Deletion removes the
build from the site, including for people holding the link.
6. Donations
The site offers a donation button processed by Stripe (redirection
to a payment page hosted by Stripe; no card data ever passes through our servers).
Donations are:
- voluntary and without consideration — they grant no service, perk or additional content;
- meant to cover the site's hosting and running costs;
- non-refundable, except in the case of an obvious error (double payment, wrong amount) reported to
charles.lindecker@outlook.fr within a reasonable time.
Payment receipts are issued and managed by Stripe. See also the
privacy policy for the processing of
the related data.
7. Intellectual property
Game data and artwork belong to Riot Games, Inc.; the site's code
is released under the
CC BY-NC 4.0
license; builds belong to their authors (see section 4).
Full details, including the Riot Games disclaimer, are in the
legal notice.
8. Availability and liability
The service is provided "as is", on a best-effort basis and
without any availability guarantee, in particular during maintenance, outages, or
unavailability of the Riot Games services the displayed data depends on.
Game data comes from Riot Games' public services (Data Dragon, CommunityDragon)
and is provided without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness; it may differ
from the live state of the game. External links are provided for information only;
the publisher is not responsible for their content.
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher shall not be liable for indirect
damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in
these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time using the
"Delete my account" button on the profile page: the account and
all your builds are then deleted. The publisher may suspend or terminate an account
in case of breach of these terms, with prior notice except in urgent cases
(manifestly unlawful content).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the following country:
France. Any dispute relating to their
interpretation or performance falls under the jurisdiction of that country's
competent courts, without prejudice to the mandatory protective provisions
benefiting consumers residing in the European Union.
11. Changes to these terms
The publisher may amend these terms as the service evolves. Any change is signalled
by updating the effective date shown at the top of the page;
using the service after that date implies acceptance of the amended terms.
